My Apothecary:
Magical Herbal Blends & Accessories
We can’t talk about health without talking about nature, because plants both heal and prevent so many illnesses. They really are magic.
I’ve been dedicated to studying herbalism for about six years now - first earning my professional certification in Medicinal Plants from Cornell University, and now working directly with Rosemary Gladstar's team (the Godmother of Herbalism) at The Science & Art of Herbalism - check out the pic of Rosemary and I on my Credentials page! Once an avid coffee drinker who had never had a cup of tea in her life, I now adore both the ritual and the benefits of delicious medicinal teas to my body and soul. I drink 2-3 cups every day.
My formulations focus on immunity, anti-inflammation, respiratory and digestive health, hormonal balance and mental peace and clarity. These herbs are all GCAS (generally considered as safe), but if you’re currently on prescription meds, pregnant or nursing, I always recommend that you check for contraindications.
All my ingredients are organically sourced for the freshest ingredients and the ultimate in nourishment.*

Lori's Healing Heart Tea
10 servings
My newest tea, this blend has actually been in the works for a couple of years. I first began researching ingredients for Healing Heart for a client who had experienced an incredible loss, but over time I realized how much we all need a balm for heartache and grief, especially now. My personal experience with this blend has been profound. It’s not only helped me recover from a loss, but it’s helped to process the feelings surrounding that event. I wasn’t expecting that, but I'm so grateful for it.
In addition to those aspects, Healing Heart is amazingly medicinal to your body - especially your heart and immunity.
This tea is tangy, so I add a little natural sweetener once it’s steeped. It’s become one of my cherished favorites. (Note: Rhodiola root is very expensive because it's very effective. I've cut my profit considerably on this blend to make it more affordable, and so that more of my clients can enjoy the benefits.)
Organically Sourced Ingredients:
-
Hawthorn Leaves and Flowers: improve blood flow to the heart and promotes a sense of calm; spiritual meaning: protection, hope and magic.
-
Hawthorn Berries: packed with antioxidants and lowers blood pressure; spiritual meaning: balancing the heart chakra.
-
Hibiscus Flowers : promotes heart health, reduces fat absorption and strengthens the liver, excellent for immunity; spiritual meaning: a cherished ally in matters of the heart across many nations.
-
Orange Peel: reduces inflammation, promotes heart health, and stimulates digestion; spiritual meaning: emotional expression and vitality.
-
Rhodiola Root: an adaptogen to help the body perform under stress, and ease depression and anxiety; spiritual meaning: healing, wisdom and fortitude.*

And Introducing...Kickers!!
Rather than develop a million different formulas, I've come up with a revolutionary new way for you to personalize your teas!
You'll use the Morning and Evening Teas as your base, and request these add-ons to make a potion that's specific to your needs. Feel me to message me with any questions, and don't forget to be mindful of contraindications if you're on medications.
Vanilla Black Tea
Need a little energy boost? This vanilla black tea will provide you with bright, calm energy on days when you need a little extra. Add 1 teaspoon to steep with your Morning Magic Tea...delicious!*
Kava Kava Root
Do you have a hard time relaxing at night, and a tough time staying asleep once you've turned in? Kava kava can be just the ally you need. My clients report that the kava in my Evening Enchantment has been a godsend, but some people need just a little extra to seal the deal. Add 1/2 teaspoon to steep with your Evening Enchantment Tea.*
Ginger Root
Struggling with acidity, bloat, or slow digestion? Ginger is not only the perfect companion to good digestion, but also a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. I add 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons of ginger root to my evening tea every night! *
Raspberry Leaf
Raspberry leaf has historically been used to help balance hormones, and is currently included in many over-the-counter remedies for hot flashes. Including raspberry leaf in my Evening Enchantment tea was no accident! That, in addition to my plant-based diet, has made my menopausal years a breeze compared to what I used to experience. Try my Evening Tea, and if you need a little extra hormone balancing, add 1 tablespoon of raspberry leaf to steep with it every night. (It's mild and delicious, so you can also add it to your tea in the morning or afternoon as well! You can drink up to 4 cups of raspberry leaf tea per day, so feel free to experiment with the amount that works for you).*
Senna Leaf
Are you struggling with constipation? This herb has been used for centuries. In fact, the active compound in Senna is what's used in popular OTC remedies like Ex-Lax. When needed, I put a rounded 1/2 teaspoon in my evening tea, and I'll typically have a bowel movement the next morning. I find the effects to be more natural than OTC meds, but just as effective.*
Happy Mushroom Mug
Anyone else addicted to adorable mugs?? I officially have a problem! But in truth, your tea (or coffee) drinking ritual should be an experience, not just a beverage.

It was hard to top last year's mug, but this one does just that. It's handmade ceramic, holds 10 oz (because those huge 24 oz mugs are so 90s!), and the lid not only helps trap all the amazing constituents of your tea while youre steeping - it keeps your beverage nice and hot between sips! I can keep my tea very warm for about 45 minutes just by keeping the lid on, which is just lovely.

I was sold on those points, but then I saw the very Fleetwood Mac-esque messaging: grow your own way.
Perfection :)

Tea Infusers
When I first started drinking loose leaf tea, I had only drank storebought tea from tea bags and I no idea how to infuse the loose tea into the water! So, I've included these two options for those of you who might be in the same boat I was.

First - a stainless steel strainer. This is perfect for beginners because it's easy to use and to clean, and this one has a lid which is perfect to keep in all those amazing. medicinal constituents in your tea. It has arms to rest on the lip of your mug.

Secondly, a 3"x4" muslin infusion bag! Just drop your tea in the bag, pull the drawstring, and place it in your mug full of hot water. When your steeping is done, dump the contents, rinse out the bag and leave it to dry. The reason I love this little bag is because I can use my fingers to squeeze every last drop of tea out of the bag before drinking it.

Choose the one that speaks to you!

Lori's Elderberry-Rosehip Syrup Kit
12 oz.
When I developed this recipe, I was so excited to share it with the world because it's not only highly medicinal and effective for immunity boosting - it's straight-up delicious.
But sourcing elderberries, rosehips, mullein and ginger in the amounts you need can be pricey and tedious. The solution? My incredible (and beautiful) Elderberry Rosehip Syrup Mix!

What makes it so effective? Elderberries contain:
-Polyphenols, which are antioxidants that can prevent cell damage and boost the immune system.
-Vitamin C, which supports immune health and can help prevent illness.
-Flavonoids, which have anti-inflammatory effects and can protect cells from oxidative damage.
-Anthrocyanins, which can have immunomodulating effects and can attach to viruses to prevent them from entering host cells.
Powerful, right? Now, one point about immunomodulators - they are substances that either stimulate or suppress the immune system, helping the body fight disease, infection, or even cancer. That’s why elderberry is popular - especially in the fall and winter months. That being said, for those with overactive immune systems (autoimmune disease), elderberry in larger quantities can aggravate the immune system rather than help it. So if you’re on immunosuppressants, pass this one by.
Personally, I have fibromyalgia which is often accompanied by signs of immunosuppression. But there’s some evidence that immunomodulators can help with symptoms. The way I handle this is to practice caution with my immune system - I actively support it but I’m careful not to overstimulate it. I’ll be partaking of this syrup via one tablespoon per day for a couple of weeks.
All of that said, elderberry is but one part of this amazing elixir! Rosehips are CRAZY high in Vitamin C (a powerful antioxidant and immunity booster) as well as anti-inflammatory, as is ginger. Not only that, but the base of this mixture is mullein tea, which has long been hailed as a powerful respiratory remedy.*
Kit Ingredients Include:
-
1/2 cup Elderberries
-
1/2 cup Rosehips
-
3 Tbsp Mullein Leaves
-
1 Tbsp Ginger Root
-
12 oz Mason Jar with Decorative Lid
-
Directions
The only thing you'll need to add is water, fresh lemon and maple syrup or local honey!
(Directions: Steep mullein and ginger in 2 cups steaming hot water, lid on, for minimum 60 minutes. Strain, and discard or compost spent herbs. Add tea, elderberries, rosehips and 1 small, sliced lemon to a medium saucepan with a lid. Bring to a low simmer (not a boil), stirring occasionally for 30 min. Remove from heat and let mixture cool slightly. Put your honey or maple syrup into the mason jar provided. Carefully strain cooled elderberry/rosehip mixture through a fine mesh sieve into the jar, using the flat side of a spoon to press the mixture into the sieve and squeeze out additional liquid. Gently stir syrup until well combined. With lid on tight, store in your refrigerator for up to 4 weeks, taking a shot or tablespoon every day.)

Calming Comfort Salve
2 oz. tin
I developed this salve with natural pain management in mind. Although my diet is anti-inflammatory and I stretch and exercise, I have fibromyalgia so I'm no stranger to pain in my muscles and joints - especially postmenopausally with that drop in estrogen.

This compound combines powerful, herbal-infused oils into a base that's soothing to the skin and calming to nerve endings. I find that you can feel a slight warming of the area right away with effects in about 15 minutes, and you can use it several times a day. It can also be soothing for skin conditions like eczema.

Lip Love
10 ml jar
Everyone who knows me knows I’m a bit obsessed with lip gloss. And when I’m on camera or at an event, you’ll definitely find me rocking my favorite professional brands.
But over the past couple of years my lips have been seeming dryer overall, and the store bought go-to that I’d always worn to moisturize them wasn’t really cutting it anymore. This is where being an Herbalist comes in handy!
I experimented with many versions of this lip balm and finally came up with an amazing blend that feels good, smells good, and looks good. And you know what I noticed right away? No more scaly, dry lips! I still wear my favorite, fancier glosses for work and special occasions, but now I wear my Lip Love in the evenings, when I’m running errands, or out on the trail. My lips are so much softer!
This blend nourishes and hydrates with my very own hibiscus-infused olive oil and Vitamin E, softens and protects with sweet almond oil and shea butter, and provides a bit of shimmer with food grade glitter (optional)! It's finished off with a little sweet smelling vanilla, and has a tiny dash of stevia so it tastes great, too.*

Want a little scent? Specify your essential oils: lavender, cinnamon, sweet orange, or unscented. If you'd prefer no shimmer, note that in the comments of your order.
Organically Sourced Ingredients:
Hibiscus-infused olive oil, sweet almond oil, shea butter, candelilla wax, vitamin E, food grade color powder, food grade glitter, essential oils, stevia
